Why can't I view a video? (privacy settings)
If you are logged into the membership site and cannot play a video, or receive a warning saying a video cannot play due to privacy settings please read on.
Please note: Training videos & craft videos are hosted on Vimeo. There are no viewing restrictions placed on any video (not by country, etc.), other than you must be logged in to the Premium Membership site to view them.
WHAT'S GOING ON?
If you get a privacy settings warning, it is the result of something like your browser settings or security settings preventing auto-play of videos. You will need to do one of the following:
- Adjust your security settings or thresholds
- View the site in incognito mode
- Switch your device or browser
HOW DO I FIND THE ISSUE?
Note the device and browser you are using to access the site. Access the site with a different browser and / or another device. Do you have the same issue across different devices and multiple browsers?
- If the problem is specific to a certain browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Brave etc.), then you need to either
- Switch to the browser that works for you OR
- View the site in incognito mode OR
- Adjust your security settings for that browser
- If the problem is across browsers and devices, you likely need to adjust your device's security settings
HOW DO I VIEW IN AN INCOGNITO BROWSER?
If you aren't comfortable adjusting security settings or locating add-ons, just view the site in an alternate browser or switch to an incognito browser.
- e.g, in Chrome, click the icon with the three dots in the upper right of your browser. Choose "New Incognito Window"
- e.g., in Firefox, click the icon with three lines in the upper-right corner of the browser window. Choose "New Private Window".
- MS Edge info for Private Mode:

Switch to Incognito Mode on your browser, then login to the site again and try to view the video or content.
HOW DO I ADJUST SECURITY SETTINGS?
There are security settings and add-on options that can be added to a device or browser and then adjusted, which may interfere with viewing legitimate videos or content. It is possible you don't remember agreeing to an add-on or pop-up blocker, or changed a setting or threshold.
If you CAN view the content in Incognito mode (see above), your browser likely has a security add-on you'd need to tweak, or has the browser security set to the highest level, preventing you from viewing certain content or downloading certain file types. Every browser is slightly different, but the settings should be located in the browser menu under something like Settings > Privacy and Security or Security.
It's highly likely if your issue is device-wide, that you manually adjusted settings at some point and have issues (e.g., viewing images, playing video, opening websites, excessive warnings, popups) across many sites throughout the day. To adjust security or antivirus settings for an entire device, you would need to locate those menus again on your device. You could tweak the thresholds or add members.thegraphicsfairy.com to a list of approved sites.
