Which Graphics Program Should I Get?
There are a lot of different software programs out there. The one that we recommend most is Photoshop Elements by Adobe, also known as PSE. We feel that it's much easier to use than the full version of Photoshop and less expensive too. We think you get the most bang for your buck with PSE!
Most of the Vintage Design tutorials that we have on this site are taught using PSE. There is so much that you can do with it, we hope you will follow along with the tutorials and learn some new skills. Even learning just a few basic skills will have a huge impact on your designs and your art! You can download PSE on the Adobe site HERE. It works on both PCs and Macs.
We have started to offer digital tutorials with other popular software. We like Canva, Gimp, and PhotoPea. Canva is web-based and there are free and paid tiers. You are more limited with what you can do with Canva (especially on the free version), but the menus are very intuitive, which is helpful if you are not used to Adobe products. GIMP and PhotoPea are both very similar to the look and feel of Adobe Photoshop. GIMP is an open source program you download; PhotoPea is web-based.
